MJ

Yes, he was crazy and yes, he was pretty sick... but he was AMAZING!
I was pretty young when Thriller came out... But I loved and watched every second of the making of the video over and over. I danced to that music many nights. I have enjoyed his music for most of my life and his music inspires so many ... so it is pretty sad that he is gone. Not that I expected him to do anything else in his lifetime or that it is that big of a shock after the turns his life has taken... but it is sad. Sad we lost someone so gifted... but I would suppose that we lost him years ago... but I will always be thankful for the wonderfully fun music that he left.

Anyone care to swap?

So I was chatting with a neighbor here about our quaint little town. Guess what I found out... apparently, my quaint little town has a nice party life behind the private Christian schools and rich Baptist Churches. I am not referring to the coke parties for the geriatric... because that is pretty rampant. I was informed that I need to be careful with which parties I agree to attend. Swinging is alive and well here in the Midwest. I guess that there are a few couples that live in our own neighborhood that often hold these gatherings. Seriously?! That's offending! I mean they haven't even asked me yet. Really... I cannot think of anything I would rather not do. And that includes having my eyes burned out by a hot poker.
I have so many questions... So what do the invites look like? how does the switch go down? How much is drinking is involved to get you to that point? There is bound to be a guy there that nobody wants to get stuck with, what do you do then? How do you politely say, um I'd rather die than attend?
Let me just say that my town has a whole 10,000 people. How incestuous is that? What does that do for Father's day here? How can the future generations even be expected to date? I mean they may all be related... and likely are. Ugh... my head is spinning.

Finally... Huh?!

SO I am feeling a little more settled... I guess that why I feel like I can blog--- vent.
I have been SO Sick the past few days. I have never had food poisening (at least like this) and on Saturaday it was a doosy. I went to dinner followed by a movie (Twilight... back to that in a sec). Ten minutes into the movie Rich got called into the hospital and I was on a solo date (what's new). Halfway through the movie I knew that something was terribly wrong (Not that the movie was THAT bad... but) I had to puke in the theater's public bathroom. Oh... and it was not any puke... I have not puked this much EVER... and I have been pregnant 4 times! It was aweful... I had to rinse out my hair clean my glasses and wash off my shirt... still at the theater... alone!!! I finished and returned to the movie.
I texted Rich to hurry because I was now in need of a doctor and he got there just as the movie ended. I made it home and started the puking all over again. Rich is laughing asking if I needed to go to the ER. HA! Yes... I considered that after I threw up the water and ibuprophen. I did not have to suffer alone for long. Rich was just 2 hours after me... HA! Now who is laughing... well not quite yet I was still suffering. I tried to go to church the next day... HA! That did not work... so I returned home and laid in bed the rest of the day. I decided to finish the twilight series ... Breaking Dawn. For over 750 pages... it read really fast.

Here is the thing. The idea is novel. I like the idea (I realize I am treading on thin ice with the rabid Twilight fans). I just feel like there was not a lot of followthrough... It just felt like a lot of fluff without any substance to sink my teeth into... HA! I really wish it had been fulfilling. Not so much. Oh well...

One Stop... Furniture and a Tan

As I read through the little county newspaper... sifting through all the Gun and Knife show, livestock, and exotic dancer ads... I came across this little gem of a store.

In case it is a little fuzzy... yes it is a dual advertisement for furniture and tanning. It's just so funny because I was just thinking about getting a tan the last time I was shopping for a new dresser!?!?

So I guess that there is that.

What a weekend!

I am so lucky!! I have such amazing friends and it is always wonderful to be able to get together and just spend time together. Since we all are moving around and are no longer in close proximity to each other it is harder to carve out time to get together. This weekend we were able to make it work... and it was fabulous!!

We first went to a beading store where we made a air of earrings and then made duplicates of that earring for each friend. We then went to dinner and then finally made it to the Counting Crows/ Maroon 5 concert. HOW FUN!

The Counting Crows were okay... I have now seen them twice... and both times Adam Duritz has been smashed to the point of incoherence. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Maroon 5 concert. They were so polished and really, really great. Adam Levine was even a little hot... I honestly never thought that would be possible, who knew?! Here is a you tube clip of one of my favorite parts... (forgive the quality)

Now... here is a little quiz. I am going to post photos... albeit, bad ones... and you have to match the set of earrings to the designer. I will include initials and a short personality blurb... if that helps. My husband was even able to match them.. so it should be fairly easy!

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

These are very simplistic definitions. I could begin each one with extremely smart, beautiful and overall amazing.

TG... Professional writer. Caring and Supportive.
TC... Technical Writer. Thoughtful and Talented.
HS... Pursuing PhD. Practical, Savvy, and Cultured.
SW... Burden to husband. Outspoken and Fun.
JB... Writer and Teacher. Reserved and Romantic.
AJ... Marketing and Communications. Patient and Good hearted.

I hate bugs!

So... Missouri is very beautiful with the rolling hills, lakes and abundant trees. However, I have reached my limit with all of the bugs. They are everywhere. They are HUGE and most of the time they are unidentifiable.

Here is a bug's exoskeleton... yes it is now bigger!!! UGHH!

This is a spider that set up house in a tree right outside our condo.. in about 2 hours. It was not there when we left for soccer.. but it was there and heaving (I'm sure it had a billion babies ready to greet the world)when we came back.

Here is the kicker...we have two huge ponds on our house lot and they will attract and produce more bugs that I care to think about. I may spend a lot of time enjoying Missouri beauty from the heavily insecticided inside of my house.
